Bucs Turnover Win to Bears

The Buccaneers went into Soldier Field, to play Josh McCown and Coach Lovie's old team, on a cool rainy day where both teams combined to play a sloppy football game. Turnovers and penalties held the Bucs down to 13 points and the loss.

The Buccaneers were 7 of 17 on 3rd down and had 9 penalties for 87 yards. The Bucs had 4 turnovers (2 fumbles, 2 ints)

For the first half the Buccaneers shutout the Bears and held the Bears offense to under 100 yards total.

The Bears had 21 unanswered points in the third quarter off of 3 Buccaneer turnovers. That's when the wheels of the wagon fell off. It seems like we couldn't find our rhythm and sustain a consistent drive.

The Bucs were sacked five times for 40 yards. One thing I notice also is that we only had 22 carries in a game for a total of 66 yards. We can't control the clock like that especially when we are dominating.  The Bucs had 30:00 min TOP.
We should not have given the Bears that much time with the ball on offense.

Mike Evans scored the only touchdown for Tampa Bay, a 19 yard reception. He still continues to be one of the best rookie receivers in the NFL.

I lean towards OC Arroyo for not adjusting when the pressure was coming up the middle. He kept sending out 5 receivers when the Bears were rushing five to six men. He should have kept two RBs for pass blocking.

There were times when McCown held the ball too long trying to do too much. It looked like he was putting too much effort into trying to make a point returning back to Chicago. It was a tough loss for the Bucs. Now it's off to next week at home against Cincinnati.

How do you feel about this Bears game?
